Hotel City - Villach

Consider asking for a mountain view room. The sight is amazing during morning sunrises.

It was a good small and fabulous hotel in a domestic area, just off the centre of town, the cafes and restaurants and 5 minutes walking distance to the main square. Comforts of modern and compact classic double room luckily with airco were fabulous...

It was in a central setting next to a supermarket. The breakfast was hot and exceptionally good - a great selection of dishes. The staff were incredibly nice and accommodating and an absolute pleasure.

The location was perfect for exploring, just a short walk to sights. The large modern room was a cozy retreat.

Our economy twin room was more than silent. Everything was great, including hot and reasonably good breakfasts with salami and local cheese and honey.

Had excellent stay in this perfect hotel, the staff were amiable, location was wonderful opposite station & taxi rank. Generally everything was nice, though the bathroom was tiny. We stayed here for 3 nights and greatly enjoyed the place.

I loved the spacious Economy Twin Room with a fine mountain view! The breakfast spread was out of this world, with a variety of homemade options, made mornings good. Plus, being right across from the train station was a game-changer for my travel plans!

They gave me the superior room as the normal was full booked. That was nice but for me not a big advantage. Nice bed, free internet, no noise-nuisance which was great. Location was great, 2 minutes from the trainplatform. Good hotel but based on my total experience (see also my negative points) the price was too high.

As the room was long, there were a lot of small curtains to close which was a big job and not nice if you are tired. Airconditioning was not adjustable, it was a lottle too warm for me. I asked downstaires at the reception but nothing happened. Breakfastroom was too small, I had to share my table with other people, I don't like that!

We always return to Hotel City whenever we are in Villach. The location is perfect, the staff - under the leadership of manager Karin Strickner - is exceedingly helpful, cheerful and professional, the breakfast is wonderful, the facilities are clean and everything is in excellent working condition. We wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone and everyone passing through this part of Austria.

Hotel City was located right near the train station which was very convenient for our stopover on our way to Venice. It was a clean hotel and the breakfast was terrific. Overall nothing hugely special about the hotel but it served its purpose for us well. The staff were very nice.

The furnishings were a bit outdated, but not a huge complaint - it was very clean and comfortable.

The breakfast was astonishing, a highlight! The location is great, just across from the station, and the room had a nice view. One minor thing. The pillow was too soft for my taste 😄

Excellent location, nice to get tea making facilities in the room as well.

Could do with BBC World on the TV.
